Helen asks…

Best Web Hosting & Site Builder?

Hi im looking for a good web hosting site with an easy to use site builder, can anyone help?

The Expert answers:

There are many web hosting providers and you might become confused to choose which one. It is very important that you choose a good web host. Good doesn’t mean expensive. Good means reliable with great support. When you choose a web host, make sure they have excellent support. If you have a problem with your web site you want help now, not in a day or two.

It can be confusing when choosing a web hosting company because they all look pretty much the same and they seem like they know what they are doing. However, I recommend reading reviews from reliable websites so that you may compare and become more familiar with the hosting companies before making a decision. This website has helped me a lot with my hosting decisions for a while now http://www.top15hosting.com

I am a web designer and I have changed back and forth from many companies over the years but my favorite one is currently ranked #1. I am moving all my websites to them as the contracts expire. They have an excellent site builder that has helped me a lot. I hope this will help you.

If you have more than one account, check if there’s a drop-down box where you can select the correct domain before you publish.

James asks…

yahoo web hosting and site builder?

Does anyone know how much it costs for basic web hosting by yahoo and use of their site builder? I’m currently with godaddy and their “sitetonight” web page builder only allows 5 pages at $5/month or 10 pages for 9/month. I think I’m going to need probabablly about 15-20 pages and the next level with godaddy is like $13 for 99 pages.

I’ve been using drupal (before I was using joomla), and I’m to the point where a drag and drop method is probably best for me….

Oh, and please don’t tell me to go to their web hosting site, I’ve tried and it’s not letting me navigate very far without having to sign in and I don’t have a small business account with them.

The Expert answers:

If you are creating may websites, may be you better go for “unlimited domain hosting” such as hostmonster, bluehost, webhostingpad etc….

Yahoo hosting is also not bad for small business site.

Webhostingpad is also good and they are offering over 70% discount.

Read web hosting reviews as well.

Jenny asks…

Web Hosting with site builder, which do you recommend?

I am looking for web hosting with a free website builder. It needs to be sufficient enough for a photo gallery, 4 or 5 web pages and maybe a blog. I have been told there are hosting sites/plans with a free website builder included.

We need to be able to amintain it ourselves as it is for a small group who can not afford someone to build and maintain it for us.

Can someone please recommend someone?

Your help is very much appreciated.
We are happy to pay for the hosting just not a website developer (privately)

The Expert answers:

I have 3 sites that you can choose from that are really great sites that won’t disappoint I promise.

With this web hosting they have a lot of space and banwidth so your site can grow and your can store a lot of things for your site as well as a blog and photo gallery. Basically it should fit all of your needs.

With this web hosting you get a decent amount of space and bandwidth for a very small price, plus you can register a domain through them at low cost. Not to mention when you use the discount code ‘disturedgrl88′ (no space or quotations) you get 10% off your purchase of web hosting or a domain name.

The premier web hosting with FREE one year domain on ALL of their hosting plans, all plans have a significant amount of space and bandwidth and at low costs for domains after your one year is up for your FREE domain, $39.00 USD will pay for the domain to be registered for 4 extra years, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than registering for just 1 year with Register.com

Hope this helps you.

Maria asks…

Can a site created in Yahoo site Builder be hosted with another web hosting company?

I was wondering if i could do host on maybe host monster or any other cheaper web hosting company because yahoo hosting is a bit much. What are the positive benifits with hosting with yahoo? What is the best web hosting company?
I was thinking about WHP…Is it a hassle to change it from Yahoo to another company?

The Expert answers:

Yes it can, you could download the files then upload them to another website. Or you could copy the source code then change it to fit the other website.

Laura asks…

Who offers the best free web hosting with an easy site builder included?

I am interested in building a site. This is something new for me and I do not know all of the technicalities of how things work. I am just looking for something user friendly. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The Expert answers:

Nowadays you can build professional looking sites just by being able to drag and drop… Gone are those days when we used to code with HTML for even very basic pages. Of course, not that knowledge won’t help.. It definitely would. That said, since you said you are a beginner, check this out:

http://hosting4beginners.webnode.com/how-to-host-a-website/

It will give you step by step details of how to host your website.

As for the recommendations for a web hosting plan, check it out on the same site:

http://hosting4beginners.webnode.com/list-of-great-web-hosts/

Gator is usually good for beginners because they’ve got tons of videos to help you out with your website creation process. I generally recommend them to beginners and they don’t disappoint. They’ve got a easy to use sitebuilder as well that you can try before you buy. Great service, reasonable price and great servers.

All the best!

William asks…

Can you suggest a web site hosting similar to Go Daddy?

Hi, I have an account with Go daddy. I use their web site tonight 5 page site builder. I have private registration. in Short, i pay like $75 which includes domain. a year which is reasonable. But, i would like to explore options and get a 3-page site builder for less money. if you are familiar with this company, maybe you can help suggesting another Hosting co. that has a simple web site builder too. I know there are lots out there. thanks in advance

The Expert answers:

Hi Claire,

When choosing a web host it’s of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too:

Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites.

Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges.

Uptime: There’s no point in having a website if people can’t see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee?

Number of websites allowed: If you’re looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this?

Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted.

I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they’re very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I’ll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support.

They also have a great free website builder which is very simple to use but you can create great sites (of any size) very quickly.

You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info

Hope that helps Claire.

Regards,
Kirstie
